They are a sub-category of punk. But everything also depends on the song. I would classify Simple Plan as more alternative/rock but Blink is deffinately pop-punk. Listen to their old albums.

i agree punk is way more serious. punk is not suppossed to be like this. punk used to be about going out and having fun. and just not giving a fuck. it has changed alot. too many posers....

i hate when people get bands confused and put them in a category that they don't belong in. like when simple plan and good charlotte came into the scene and became famous and way overexposed. people were like have heard this new punk band? i would tell people they are not punk get over it.

I truely agree.There is alot of people that get some bands mixed up but,most of them don't know the style of punk.But,what do you think of the bands that get their style of music mix up?
Just because you dress up punk,doesn't mean you're punk.Their are alot of poser.It's the attitude and sound that makes it punk.
